Atari has revealed the first full images of its new Ataribox console, and teased a few more details about what it will be.
In an email to fans, the company explained that the console will feature “modern internal specs”, allowing it to include classic games (perhaps suggesting a NES Classic-like library of retro games), as well as deliver “current gaming content”.
The console will feature an HDMI output, 4 USB inputs and an SD card slot. It will come be released as a wood grain edition, or a black and red edition, both of which you can see below:
One thing’s for sure, it can’t accept an original Atari cartridge, but there’s a lot more still to learn – a fact Atari acknowledges:
