Atari has revealed additional details about its new Ataribox console, including pricing information, a release window, and its upcoming crowdfunding campaign.
The Ataribox will launch in “late Spring 2018” for $250-$300 USD, Atari revealed in its latest newsletter (via Polygon). The company says it will be a Linux-based console that’s a “full PC experience for the TV, bringing you streaming, applications, social, browsing, music, and more.”
Atari’s first console in 20 years will be powered by a custom AMD processor with Radeon graphics. Ataribox will support pre-loaded retro Atari games, as well as “current titles from a range of studios.”
