Making their mothers proud.
Physical copies of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are a bit of a throwback. They come with lots of goodies inside, including an actual manual, a map of of the game world, a Witcher universe compendium, and even stickers (yes!). There’s also a CD of the game’s soundtrack.
However, the most surprising addition of all might be the thank you note from the CD Projekt Red crew.
“First of all,” the note begins, “we would like to thank you for your support. We really appreciate that you have decided to spend your hard-earned money on our game and hope that you will have a fun time playing it.”
The note continues with CD Projekt Red mentioning they “prepared something really special — 16 DLCs for you to download, totally free of charge, regardless of the platform or edition of the game you own.”
IGN first reported on Witcher 3’s 16 free DLC packs in November. CD Projekt co-founder and joint CEO Marcin Iwiński told IGN that the company is taking a stand against paid DLC. “Because people just paid full price for our game. We owe them.”
